The Poem

For the poem to be the writer must see,
all the words that they know so
its magic will show.
We write about life and death with its pain,
how we all find the
courage to go on once again.
The poem can be short, tender, and sweet,
sending shivers of joy straight to your feet.
It can also be cruel, cutting straight to the
heart, with each word written playing its part.
It may reveal all the wonders and the beauty
of love,
two destiny's chosen by the good Lord above.
For the poem is a part of the person inside,
a piece of ourselves we choose not to hide.
so enjoy every word as it leaps from the page,
for the paper will soon fade
showing signs of its age.
