i tried

i tried to write a poem
about my love for you
so i could tell you how i feel
but i was'nt able to
i wanted you to know for sure
that i love you very much
and wanted words of poetry
your heart somehow to touch
i wanted you to know that i
adore you when you smile
and i always want to be with you
if only for a while
i hoped my poem would convey
what a part of me you are
and no matter where i may be now
thoughts of you are never far
my poem would have told you
of the joy inside my heart
and how it's always been
but the poem that i hoped to write
will forever be unread
and you will never know my thoughts
or the things i might have said
