Don't Let The Sun Catch Her Crying

When shadows of the night surround
and heartache comes again to call
Softly into a satin pillow
her tears begin to fall

Dreams won't come
Memories won't go
The night holds
the aches of
long, long ago

Too fresh to forget
Too intense to recall
They come without mercy
invading her all

Not hiding in the shadows
of the night as they should
Why can't they bring smiles
as she hoped they would

Pillow-cased through the night
wrapped in an ache of their own
Don't let the sun catch her crying
Dry her tears before break of dawn

New memories in the making
on the day in shades of umber
Dawning on new dreams
propelling her through her slumber

Don't let the sun catch her crying
For the day should bring her glee
When shadows of the new night come
I trust she'll think of thee.

Words of a song come to mind, "I pray that God will fill your heart with dreams and that He'll give you the courage to dare to do great things..."

I pray that He gives you new dreams, vision and hope for the future. ( you can pray the same for me if you like :)

Left me wondering as to who this character was.Should have come with a rider that the character in the poem is purely fictional and has no relation to anyone living or dead. However on second thoughts,I tried to find a connection -the many destitute children.
A good piece of work, fictional or otherwise.
